From time to time I will paint a subject that I find challenging for friends and family. I have not painted portraits for many years. Possibly because my painting of Churchill set the bar very high for a teenager. However now I have time on hand to expand the range of subjects and portraits is something I must do – to challenge my skills and hopefully to give pleasure to the person whose portrait I am painting. I have also tried other scenes that challenge my confidence and skills.
